Citizen astronomers are members of the general public often working under the assistance and supervision of professional astronomers. Together, they conduct scientific observations and collect data to contribute to, and expand, our scientific knowledge base. An excellent example of citizen astronomers are the volunteer members of the American Association of Variable Star Observers.

The Citizen Astronomers Collaborative is currently encouraging universities, astronomy clubs, and individuals to participate with the Institute and the DSO to create collaborative research projects using telescopes up to one meter. For more information email:   info@observatoryoperators.com
